  • Mechanical Engineering Analyst

    Mechanical analysis resource for the entire Product Development team performing a wider range of tasks in a support of product design and research for new products, primarily in the medical device space.  Perform as a team leader for other senior engineers; performing analysis, mechanical engineering or other support functions. leading the product design of any given project or task assigned which may involve supervision of a design support team.  The lead engineer responsibilities will include customer communication, sales supports, team leadership, product prototype build and testing/verification.  Other wide ranging tasks as assigned by management.  We are a relatively small engineering group with a strong "can do " attitude.  "No job too big and no job too small"

    Requirements include but are not limited to an MS in Mechanical Engineering with 3 years minimum post graduate experience, working knowledge of MEMS and Micro Fluidics, strong product design experience in a plastics centric high volume production environment.  Other requirements include experience designing medical products or devices in a regulated ISO 13485 environment, practical knowledge of design controls required for medical devices, strong working knowledge of FEA, CFD, and Thermal Transfer analysis, demonstrated CAD expertise in SolidWorks or Creo with advanced 3D modeling and complex surfacing and strong written and verbal communication skills.  Experience with MathLab a plus.     a PhD in Mechanical Engineering w/strong academic research background, direct experience with MEMS and Micro fluidics supported by publications and/or research papers, a very strong analysis capability with structural FEA, CFD, and Thermal transfer, knowledge of and some experience with Mathlab, SolidWorks and/or Creo.  Strong written and verbal communication skills are also required.  Experience in public speaking/presentation on technical subjects a strong plus.

    Work hands-on with Operators to ensure product compliance, run autos, assist Supervisor, assist in set-up of work cells (re: packaging, paperwork, staged components, break coverage, etc.) work with QA on quality related issues. Must have a minimum of three years of injection molding or manufacturing setting. Ability to properly identify rejectable conditions and be part of the long term solutions. Working knowledge of ISO, GMP and OSHA standards. Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.  Strong interpersonal and communication skills; be a team player; and have the ability to develop a team atmosphere.  Must be able to communicate with all levels of staff. High School Diploma or GED.

    Will work under the direction of the Product Development staff and/or Operations staff. Responsible for unsupervised prototype and product assembly and testing in both electrical/electronic systems as well as mechanical systems. Proven ability to read electrical and electronic schematics and troubleshoot electronic assemblies to the component level. Operate testing equipment such as O-scopes, DVM, and Environmental chambers. Proficient with MS Word and Excel. Good communications skills both written and verbal. Self-starter and a positive attitude is a must in this role. Additional responsibilities will include facilities maintenance. AS in electronics or BS in electronics/ mechanical/ Industrial design/engineering with a strong aptitude for electronics.
