    Oversee design and development of processes for new product development.  Lead cross function internal project management team, involved from project conception, equipment specifications, quotations, through full scope of project management until responsibility is transferred to Sustaining Project Engineers.  Provide input for product and mold design, working with material/supplier sourcing, manufacturing engineering, quality planning, and new program qualification. Interface with customers on design, CAD drawings, prototype tool development, engineering production tooling, procuring tooling, overseeing production run, and working with quality control to establish appropriate parameters. Manage and engineer projects from concept through production. Oversee the development of material requirements and calculate project cost for quoting.  Design and development of parts from conceptual stages through production. Work with manufacturing engineers who are responsible for assigning tooling vendors on new and revised projects. Responsible for overall tool construction and part quality and oversight of initial product runs. Design fixtures and secondary tools needed on new and revised projects. Maintain engineering and production files with proper paper work and documentations. Knowledge of MS Office Suite including Project Management desired. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering degree preferred. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in injection molding preferred, to include experience with tooling and process development from concept to implementation. CAD knowledge helpful. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Must be a strong team player and effective team leader.  Computer proficiency required.
  • PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN (1 for A Crew)

    Provide for preventative maintenance and repair of auxiliary equipment to include mixers, nozzles, screws and barrels according to the PM Calendar.   Ensure all equipment receives preventative maintenance and that clean back-up auxiliary equipment is available whenever possible to avoid quality issues and/or production downtime.  Responsibilities include the disassembly, cleaning and reassembly of complex equipment and the cleaning and maintenance of LSR pumps. This position also provides support and back-up to the Operators as needed and other completes other duties as assigned.   Requirements include a H.S.     The First Article Inspector is to provide the highest quality product to SMC customers by the qualifications of all samples and production.   This position forms process capability studies, special customer requirements and  GR & R’s.  Also provides information to manufacturing personnel as required to produce parts as agreed on per inspection requirements.  Also supports manufacturing In Process Inspectors when measurement issues arise.  Requirements include quality related courses and/or A.S.Q.C. certified mechanical inspector status, a minimum of two years’ experience in the quality field, GD&T skills, blue print reading and capability studies.  Must be able to use all QA equipment with minimum supervision and be mechanically inclined, with strong mathematics skills and a basic knowledge in statistics.

    Responsible for supplying components and/or materials to the production line and removing finished goods back to the warehouse.  Pulls sub-components from inventory for work orders, create kits and move components to the floor.  Manage first-in-first-out (FIFO) process and maintains accurate inventory amounts in IQ.  Also responsible for line clearance at the end of work order and return of unused pieces to inventory in IQ. Requirements include the ability to read and interpret DHRs (Device History Record), accurately count or weigh materials or parts and strong familiarity with computers.  Fork lift experience and knowledge of IQ preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.  Experience in injection molding preferred. Good counting and mathematical skills and a strong attention to detail. Forklift experience preferred.  (Position must be SMC Forklift Certified before operating forklift.) Competent in the use of computers and various softwares, with the ability to access and enter data as necessary. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
