Formulation and Reagent Filling

SMC has Specialists not typical to most Contract Manufacturers including Biological Engineers, Chemical Engineers, and fully accredited Lab Technicians. When coupled with a supply chain unique to the required materials, customers have found SMC can simplify their product development process by acting as an extension of their team.

Once materials have been procured and received, they are inspected, certified, and stored in environmentally controlled and monitored containment. The materials are then released to be formulated per the product requirements in a controlled lab environment using techniques that would be common to a large contract lab environment.

The pre-formulated products are then introduced to manufacturing for dispensing where they are coupled with other processes like welding, bonding, pressing, molding, assembly and leak testing. Cartridges are then kitted and released based on the results of biological testing that proves that the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) process is responding as predicted.

SMC is a Biological Safety Level 2 (BSL2) facility approved to handle materials like blood samples and fecal samples. In addition SMC facilities and staff are arranged to limit amplicon cross contamination of product.
